Welcoming Clara Grace Metro : (Email excerpts from our wait for Clara's birth)
Dear friends & family, Finally, the week has arrived! We are scheduled to go in Thursday, Jan. 31 to be induced and get to meet our baby girl. (I anticipate we will have her by Saturday, Feb. 2 since my inductions take a long time....you'd think I am trying to break some record!)Tomorrow, Monday we will meet with the doctor for a final appointment and a big decision. If the baby is still doing a headstand on her cord he may push us to do a cesarean. Yuck, I am not great with the unknown, the idea of surgery or issues with a longer recovery, but...I do fully believe that God knows what is coming and has it completely in His loving control. So, please pray for wisdom and peace for us this week and a safe birth of our little girl, however she arrives. In His care, Brenda for the Metro's

Brothers and Sisters, I must admit, when I saw the massive response to our last e-mail I wasn't sure that I had the time or the energy to read them all. I did however read each one of them, and by the time I finished the last one, reading through tear filled eyes, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for each one of you. God has richly blessed us, and of that I am acutely aware. Even as I write this, we are at West Hills Hospital, and I am listening the regular rhythm of our baby's heart rate......146 bpm, perfectly normal. God is
obviously in the business of answering our prayers, and I am borderline giddy. As of now everything is normal, and we are expecting the next 50 hours or so to finally end with the birth of our little girl. It has normally been the practice of fathers for centuries to wait until the birth of their children before announcing the name, but tonight will be a little different. Brenda and I have been content for some weeks now to name our baby Clara Joy, but after receiving notification of this Thursdays meeting we have concluded that her name will be Clara Grace. What better thing to memorialize in the name of a child than the matchless grace of our Great Father.Give us a call, we cant wait to see you.
Ryan for Brenda, Allie, Tyler, and little Clara Grace.

Brothers and Sisters, Finally, I have found some internet access. Did you know that you can get wi-fi at Mcdonalds for 2.95 per 2 hours. Thats much cheaper than Starbucks, and easier than Coffee Bean. You know how I know that, yes, I have been driving around West Hills for the last hour trying to get on line.....but you don't care about that do you. ON TO THE GOOD STUFF. For those of you who don't know, Clara Grace Metro was born last night at 10:07, 8 lbs 5oz, 20in long,(after 20 hours of induction we ended up with a c-section) as of now she's perfectly healthy. Its been over 3 years now since Bren and I began hoping for a healthy baby girl, and now after so many trials, so much time, and so much sadness, I was able to look into the eyes of my little girl and say"Hello, long expected one." Looking at her, I cant help but think of Anna, and Simeon as they looked upon the Christ Child in the temple. There whole lives culminated in that moment as they stared upon the dawn
of the new covenant and basked in the warmth of Gods amazing grace revealed in the incarnate King of Kings. Its amazing, how God can use such a tiny little baby girl to remind me so vividly of such an earth shattering moment in redemptive history. I hope that when you see her, you will be reminded as well. Bren and I are so happy, and can't wait to share this moment with you. We are still at West Hills
Hospital...and now to him who is able to do abundantly more that all that we could ask or think...
To God be the glory, Ryan for the Metros

Brothers and Sisters,
Home at last, home at last, thank God Almighty we're home at last!!!!!!!!!!!After 5 days in the hospital, we are home. Sitting on my own couch, and using my own internet service, that I don't have to wonder around for hours to find,I am finally able to make an account of all that we have seen and felt these last 9 months. But that account is far to long, and most of it would sound like the ranting and raving of a mad man, because I am tired, real tired. I do, however, want to share a scripture with you that the Medinas e-mailed to me this week in response to one of my updates. I hope that it burrows deep into your hearts and moves you to praise or great Father.
ISA 64:4 Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
Peace, Ryan for the Metros

Daddys tatto : Daddy's tattoo is in honor of our sweet baby Katelyn. We lost Katelyn at 38 weeks because of a true knot in her cord. (January 2006) She was a beautiful little girl, perfect round cheeks and ruby lips. It is a comfort to know that she is in God's care, the only one who can love her more than we do and care for her as a perfect father.
